Ulster Tower

This monument is the first one that has been built for the British soldiers in the Somme in 1921.

The Ulster Tower is the exact replica of the Helen Tower in Belfast. The tower in the Clandeboyne’s park, in Northern Ireland, it is the place where the Ulster Division trained before coming to the Somme.

Inside the tower, a room serves as a chapel of remembrance and another one is for « Tea Time » with tea, coffee, chocolate….and why not trying the Tayto chips, a speciality from Northern-Ireland.
